Lane for a boy or Layne/Laine for a girl. H is Korean and mn will be either Young (after his late father)or Kiyoung (combination of father and mothers name) Last name is two letters, starts with Y and rhymes with Lee.
What is your opinion and how would you spell either the boy or girls name. Any other spellings I didn't think of.
Girl nn is Lainey/ Layney. This is the only name we both like so far and H wants something Korean so his family in Korea have a name that has family ties. No matter what the fn is, his mother, who lives with us, will most likely call the lo by only the middle name. She may also have trouble pronouncing the L sound.

Re: Layne, Laine, or Lane
Not a huge fan of the name in general, but Layne looks way too you-neek. Please don't do that.
I like Laine. Lane I pronounce just as it's spelled, like a street, at first glance.
Hi YIO! Congrats! I love Layne, probably because my sister's name is Elayna. Also love Lane for a boy.
If formatting is wonky, it's my first post over here.

Laine would be pronounced differently than 'lane' like the street? I thought that name was always pronounced just like "lane."

I love Lane for a boy and Laine for a girl. It always makes me think of Lane Frost!! I'm not a fan of Layne, I thought that spelling was mostly used for a surname.
I worked with a girl named Kiyoung and I do like that name. Layne is nice although I prefer a different spelling I can see your H's point of view with keeping the "Y's" going.
I work w/ two ppl named Kyung and was told it's an extremely popular unisex Korean name. Do ppl in the Korean culture get offended of the combo names w/ diffn't spelling? One of my co-workers claims in her culture she does; traditional names only? Of course, it's your child I didn't know if this is something you should consider also.
To answer your question I prefer Lane & Laine.
