Wow--- my husband actual has made his son do some chores. He swept and mopped living room as well as dusted blinds and cleaned the common bathroom. Allelluia!!! AND---- he said it is his responsibility to mow the lawn on a weekly basis!!! OMG--- I just hope he follows through with all this.
What I finally said to hubs was this- Fine. The boy doesn't have to do chores but I will physically remove the tv out of his room and if he decides he wants it back he will have to complete a list of chores everytime he comes back from his moms. (chores: clean bathroom, mow lawn, sweep and blinds). Everytime he goes with his mom I will take the tv out and start all over again. Husband new this will not go over well with the boy so he told him he better do his chores or else- step mommy will do the above. I guess I had to show the hubs I meant business in order to relay the msg to the boy. I'm just trying to build the boy a good work ethic and to realize their is more to the world than just himself and that he needs to help out.
Re: OMG- making progress-no chores=no tv
You wipe down all Of your blinds once a week? It would take me three hours To do that. Minimum.
Im all for chores-what's the point of having kids if they don't clean-but this seems a bit much. Also, your H putting this on you is not acceptable.
This! Your husband needs to man up and be a parent, not a friend.
