Single Parents

well it's official

my boyfriend ended things for good on Thursday night.  I feel so abandoned.  He says it has nothing to do with me being pregnant, but how can I not feel that way ?  We are together almost 2 years, I tell him I'm pregnant, and BAM!, two weeks later he breaks up with me.  I haven't told my parents yet.  I'm pretty sure that deep down the reason I haven't is because once I tell them that he left me, they are going to tell me that I'm better off (which I probably am, just not ready to face reality.)

I have no motivation to do anything but lay in bed and cry.  Please tell me it gets better.....

  • It really does once nesting and all the excitment of the baby really hits it gets better. Its been almost a month since FOB and I split and its definetly easy now not to text/ talk to him. Unfortunetly I still have to see him several times a week as we have another LO together but even thats gotten easier.

  • Ohh hunnie you are sooo much better off without him! I'm so sorry you have to go through this but you have to try and look on the bright side even though it doesn't look so bright right now. It DOES get better, Sometimes it would be so much nicer if we didn't let our emotions get the best of us and could be like a man and just walk away but we're not so lucky. I agree with nikki that you will feel better once the excitement of the lil one comes about and you start shopping for him or her and when the time comes to put that crib together. You will always have those sad moments of realization but I promise it will get easier :) Don't give him anymore of your tears girl, he doesn't deserve that satisfaction. Never look for love because it will find you..someone amazing will come into your life when the right time comes and it will be a deserving relationship :) Chin up love!!

  • Even if you weren't pregnant you would be having the same type of reaction to ending a two year relationship. People have different ways of dealing with things. Personally I always try to find bright side of a situation because no matter how bad you think your situation is, it can always be worse. Only you can decide how you want to proceed from here.
  • it does get better. Plus, one person told me after a very heartbreaking breakup "his rejection is God's protection." And after a little bit of time I realized that person was so right.
