How did you tell family? or How will you?

I'm looking for a creative way to tell people. Our grandparents aren't going to find out for a couple more weeks and I wanted to find a cute way of telling them the news. I've searched online & on etsy and couldn't find something that jumped at at me. Any thoughts?

We are lucky that DH, my MIL, and my Mother all have their birthdays within one week of eachother. We have used this to get all family gathered at our house to celebrate potluck style. I will be just over 10 weeks by then and I'm sure they will all notice that I've put on some pounds! DH wants to announce it during praryer before we eat. I love that idea because no one can jump in and cut him off until we are done saying what we want to say! We also love the idea of giving praise to the one who has given this great gift while introducing our peanut! We want to film it somehow, but I think it will be obvious if we busted out our phones. It should be something that speaks to you and suits your personality!

DH and I found the cutest double picture frames at Hallmark. One side is a poem about grandbaby and how they are growing right now but will soon be someone to cuddle and hold and play with. The other side is a spot for your ultrasound picture. We gave it to our families on Father's Day even though we didn't have an ultrasound yet, it was worth it to see their super excited reaction.

We just kind of "told" our parents... My parents I asked if they had room for another picture on the mantle (where all the other grandkids are)... DH's parents we showed a picture of a pedal tractor that DH bought first thing when we found out we were expecting - when they didn't get it we showed them the photo of the + test...

We are telling the rest of our family at our barbecue - will be 13 weeks. I bought a shirt for our dog from cafepress that says "I'm going to be a big brother" so we will let him tell everyone! It will be funny because first reaction would be, "really?? you put a shirt on the dog?" (we only put bandanas on the dog) Then they will read it and realize what it says!

All of my/DH's families are out of state so it's all coinciding with vacations or visits. We happened to just be finishing a kitchen remodel so my mom is driving up with my little brother and sister (16 year difference, so they're young!). We're going to have a formal dinner in the new dining room and my mom/sister and I are all crafty so I figured I'd make home made place cards that said "Aunt Rachel" "Uncle Alex" "Gramma" "Grampa" and "Mom" and "Dad." I figured at first my mom and step dad would sit at the 'mom and dad' spots until my sister realized what hers said... hopefully confusion and excitement and merriment will ensue!!!

I'm still working on my dad and in laws!

I made Max a shirt that said Best Brother. It wasn't fancy but I literally live in the middle on nowhere so a white tshirt and sharpie were my go to items. We told our families on Father's Day, which was right after we found out. My parents and ILs both knew we were trying (my H and I aren't good at lying) so we figured they would ask us soon anyway so we might as well tell them.

We are going to buy three onesies, that say things like 'Grandpa is the best' or 'Auntie loves me' and so on, and wrap them up. We will present it to my fam during dinner as a 'get well' gift because she is having surgery. Then they will see the onesies! So excited..we are telling them in 2 weeks.

I gave them cards, and where they said 'congrats on becoming a mother!' i crossed out mother and wrote grandma or aunt or uncle or whatever, and included an u/s photo copy.

For my husband's parents, we bought a little sweatshirt and hung it in their closet 'Congrats on grandbaby #2!' and waited until they found it. For my mom, I wrote 'Please read this to me on or around 3/3/13. Love, Baby K'. Both options were suited to each.

We told our parents & siblings with a simple phone call. For everyone else, I think we will be making our DD a t-shirt that says "only child" with an X through it and the words "big sister" written underneath.

We found out while on vacation, so out of excitment, we phoned our parents.. but for everyone else in our family/friends we shared the picture in my siggy as our pregnancy announcement.
