Hi everyone,
LO will be 9 months on Saturday. Changing diapers and drying up/dressing after a bath are a complete nightmare. She will not sit still for more than two seconds. Even with a second hand to help entertain her, she still attempts to sit up or roll over and will not let me do what I need to get done. I try to give her a toy, my cell phone, anything to keep her occupied long enough to get her dressed. But nothing works. Any tips?? I'm worried she will hurt herself!
Re: Tips for dressing/diaper changes?
Where do you dress/change her? We don't have a changing table and used to lay him on the bed - he would always flip over and try to crawl away. We now use the big stroller for his changing/dressing since we never use it. I wish we had inveeested in a changing table.
As far as letting him hold something to distract him, letting him hold a diaper is the best distraction right now. Not sure what we'll try next when he gets bored of that.
I get LO dressed/changed on the floor or in her crib. She still runs away but at least she can't hurt herself. I've also gotten really good at changing a baby while she's standing! If I do use her changing table (which is rare now) there's a mirror above, so if I go fast that'll keep her occupied. Worked better earlier on though.
My SIL moved her changing in table in front of the window for awhile. That was a great distraction.
My LO likes books to hold. At bedtime I'll give her her sippy right away so she drinks while I change. Toothbrush was a big hit for awhile. If H is around I'll have him talk/play with her while she's down. Goes so much faster as she's really occupied then.
Mommy loves you Eevee!

This is hysterical - because it's my husband's trick! We had some leftover from my birthday and he always has me grab one to give to the baby to play with he does changes.
I use the floor method and have become adept at doing it while he's moving/crawling around. With clothes I do shirt while he sits on my lap in front of the mirror and pants/socks mid-crawl.
