Britax Boulevard sale! XP

The Britax Boulevard is 33% off and has never been cheaper so if this is the convertible you want, you might want to get it now! We are still going to use the infant seat for awhile but will keep this in the garage until we switch. I have read so many good things about the boulevard, I am really happy to be getting it!

Wow, we have this seat and don't really have an issue with the straps.  We did add larger strap covers though so it wasn't cutting into her neck.

  • I just don't see the point in spending hundreds of dollars. When we bought DD's seat, we asked her pedi about all the different options......you're basically paying for the name. Its no safer than the seat I spent $85 on. To each their own.....but I'm too cheap lol

  • It keeps dropping to this price.  They came out with new ones so they are trying to eliminate old inventory.  I was eyeing the zebra one, haha.  It was at $219 a few weeks ago.

I LOVE this seat and have no problems loosening the straps. You just have to pull up on a little metal tab inside the seat, just like our infant seat.

As for the safety, the PP mentioned, not all seats are equal. The steel bars versus plastic that most seats have are much more resistant to forces on impact, head side cushions are not standard on all seats either and those make a bug difference in the number of head/neck injuries received as well, especially since most accidents are side impact. True, you can get lots of seats with similar features/safety in all price ranges but I gaurantee you that a $60 seat made of plastic and a $300 steel reinforced seat are not going to be of similar quality or safey. If I have to save a lot to get a safer seat, I'd say my childs wellbeaing is worth a couple hundred dollars.

  • Agree with PP.  Just because all seats are required to meet the minimum safety standards does not mean that all seats are created equal.  Some carseat manufacturers may have decided to exceed the minimum.

  • Anyone know if this seat will fit easily in a Camry?

It fits easily in my Accord, so I would guess yes.

  • Did you have an infant seat in there previously? If so then it will msot likely fit fine. Our Graco infant seat took up more space than the Boulevard does. I am 5'8" an DH is 6' and the carseat sits behind the driver seat fine, where the infant seat had to be installed in the middle to fit behind the seats. If in doubt, go to BRU or BBB and ask them to let you try it out in your backseat first.

No, no they are not.  Steel and plastic are not equal.  They are required to meet the same MINIMUM safety requirements (just like all cars are required to meet the same minimum safety standards).  It doesn't mean they are the same...

Which seat did you buy? I don't think they are the same. Not saying yours isn't safe but they do crash tests and whatnot and they do not perform the same.

  • I don't remember the exact name, I'd have to look at it....and I'm not running outside as its storming pretty bad right now. As i.said, I discussed with our pedi and he backed our decision. I would have loved to spend all kinds of money on it, but I was unemployed at the time. I learned to be very frugal. My DD is very safe and comfy in her seat. I have complete confidence in it

That is fine and I understand your choice but that doesn't mean all seats are the same safety-wise.  I bought the Boulevard for the same reason I lugged around the very heavy chicco keyfit for months, its safety rating.
