Daycare Search

I am a first time mom 24 weeks along starting my daycare search.  Both my husband and I work full time.  We are in search of a good daycare facility preferably in West Omaha.  Any recommendations?  I have heard positive reviews for the following places.

Morning Star

Montessori

St. Lukes

I would appreciate you imput and thoughts.

Re: Daycare Search

  • Hi!

I wont be of any help to you, but just wanted to say that I am in the same boat.  I have been looking in West to mid Omaha for daycares, I have not toured any yet, but if I do, I will be sure to let you know what I find out!  Good luck-

  • I too live in West-O near Oakview and my SO has family that works at Montessori, on 144th, I have heard really great things about the kids that come from there. Their wait-list however, is a few pages long and they are very expensive, I find the costs equivalent the experience kids recieve there. I think ultimately, its a matter of how much you're willing to pay for you're child's care (in my opinion the costs retribute the expense and makes it worth the few extra dollars).

  • Hi there - I hope your search has been going well.

I live out by 192 & Q, and there are quite a few centers near me, but unfortunately I can't give much info on them.  :-(

I feel like I'm in sort of the same boat as you - although I'm only about 7.5 weeks along.  Is it typical to start looking at/for daycare that early (~20-24 weeks)???  I'm so completely clueless about this.

Also - can someone give me a ballpark on what daycare costs run (center vs in-home) so I can have an idea what the rough average cost would be.

    Thanks!

Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!!
