Which brand of probiotics?

I've decided to start giving Kate a probiotic to help with her gas issues. Even though her formula has a probiotic in it, I've read that giving her an additional one could help with her gas pain. I've tried everything to make her comfortable, and this is a last ditch effort, so I'm hoping it works.

If you use a probiotic, which brand do you use? Where did you get it?

I've read a lot about Biogaia. Does anyone use this brand? Have you had success with it?

Re: Which brand of probiotics?

  • I got Flora Udo's Choice Infant Probiotic. I got it at whole foods. Other friends recommended Culturelle for Kids but it was really expensive!

  • We use Bio Gaia and they work awesome!! Only have had them for a week and are working great. Get them online though. I got mine at Walgreens and ended up paying about $8 more than if I'd have gotten them online.

  • I also wanted to add that using them has helped her with the gas. And in combination of me being dairy free. There will be times where she will get angry about gas but it's not all day anymore. Now she will pass gas or will poop like it doesn't bother her at all.

I got that brand because it has more strains than others and it was cheaper. I pump a bottle a day to give it to her.

  • I know you are asking about probiotics and maybe you have tried this, but for the past 2 weeks I've been giving L colic calm gripe water before her last bottle every night. It seems to have helped a lot! I also do the colic massage when she gets up from naps.

  • Thanks, ladies!

I called my pedi yesterday because she was miserable, but they said there was nothing they could do, and to keep up with giving her gas drops, etc. I was in tears when I got off the phone with them. I'm crossing my fingers that this helps!

Yep, this is what we use.  It produces machine gun toots.

    It rules.

  • We use bio Gaia.  Got it at walgreens.  Definitely think they help.  We've been giving them to her for about 6 weeks now.

    Good Luck!

I tried Colic Calm, and it didn't help :(

I was in tears too with my pedi and DD's gas issues. I'm so happy we started the probiotic. She's been on them for about 2 months now. We stopped giving gas drops after the first 2 weeks. Good luck!
