Sometimes this board feels like a BW board. That being said, I have a BW question - ha!

What age did you start to "wean" (so to speak) away from regular every day babywearing? I've worn DS about 4 hours a day (not all at once) since he was 4 weeks but I've noticed I tend not to grab it as much these days now that he's happy kicking around on a playmat or playing with toys. But he's still content (for the most part) in his wrap and I've also noticed increasing incidences of cranky evenings and I'm wondering if they are related.

Should I still be wearing my 17lb almost 5 month old just as much?

I'd just go with the flow. Your baby will let you know if they want more independence. I stopped wearing DS daily once I was quite PG, so after 1 year. In other cultures, baby stays on moms back until walking and then still quite frequently into childhood.

DD is a year now, I BW when people would use a stroller and if she's beeing fussy at home so nowhere as much as I did with a NB. Just go with the flow

I never was able to actually get a carrier with ds #1. Def getting one for #2. That being said, I wish I had one, I know I'd still wear him because I can't ever put him down. HE loves being held. lol
