  • My little guy did 8 hrs last night, too! Let's hope it wasn't a fluke and ot keeps up? I just wish I fell asleep at a decent time. I saw my monster in law last night so I stayed up all night telling her off in my head! Lol!
  • Awesome!  Mine will do an initial 5-7 hour stretch which helps so much!

  • I was thrilled with 4 hours, lol...hopefully at least that much will become more regular!  DH is off work for the summer, so I get him to take the baby downstairs when she wakes up so I can get an extra hour or so.

  • I would love to know what you all are doing to get such great sleep out of your LO. Seriously, we are only getting maybe 5 hours in one stretch and then after that it is spotty.

I go back to work in about a week and need more sleep than I am getting. Suggestions?

Do you swaddle?  I know it sounds redundant but since I started swaddling LO in a Swaddle Me blanket that he can't get out of he has been sleeping longer stretches lying flat in his crib.  He startles himelf, flails his arms and wakes himself up.  And I always make sure he has a full tummy as part of the bedtime routine.  I also run a fan in his room, not directly on him, but for the white noise.

  • He sleeps best when he's had a bath before bed, and I'll let him sit in the tub for as long as he's not fussy and the water is still warm. Then he gets jammies  and snuggle until he's almost asleep then I put him down. I like to start bath time right after dinner when he's got a case of the evening awefuls. The moment his toes hit the water he calms right down!

I give my LO a bath each night, which she loves. Then I dress her for bed, swaddle her in an A+A blanket, and nurse her. Sometimes she acts like she's full, but I make sure she has "dessert".after I burp her. She needs to be nice and full to sleep through the night. I turn on the white noise machine too. We use that all night, every night. She averages 8 straight hours. The shortest stretch she's had since she was 2 weeks old was a 5 hour stretch a couple of times. Good luck!.

  • Mine did the same last night... I was like thank you Baby Jesus.
  • Two weeks ago, he started going from 3-4 hours to 5 hours for the first stretch, and then 3-4 for the second stretch. We went from 8pm, 11pm, 2am, 4am, 6am feeding habit to 8pm, 1am, 4:30am feeding habit.

Last night, he had a 8pm feed, and then a 3:30am feed. Of course we still woke up at 1:30 am wondering if anyone had fed the baby yet....

Little by little, we're getting there. My ideal would be a 8pm feed and then a 5:30am feed (I need to start getting ready for work around 6am).  Almost there!
