Re: I'm gonna give Weight Watchers a try.
I'm doing it and I really like it although I've been slacking a bit the past week and a half or so. I have iPhone and the WW app is awesome. Skinnytaste.com has my favorite recipes. I think it's a great diet because I am seriously never hungry and I feel like I eat a ton. My complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that the weight loss is very gradual, like 1 lb a week for me. I know that's the way to go and the best way to maintain weight loss. But pre-preg I was more of the type who wanted to lose 10 lbs in a week so this slow stuff is a little frustrating.
I'm doing the online version although I think it would be helpful to have to go in person and get weighed in. I'd feel more motivated if I had to be held accountable like that.
Skinnygirl cocktails by bethenny frankel are only ONE point for a huge serving. Drink up! I've had the margarita and pina colada and they're both yummy.
My sister has lost 100 pounds. It's taken her about 3 years. Make sure you count everything, she only lets herself not count dinner on Friday nights, every other meal or snack is counted and measured.
Good luck! I'm thinking of starting it myself.
I tried WW a few years ago, before DS. I hated it. I found it difficult to track my points and keep up. I did lose weight while doing WW, but I didn't stick with it for longer than 3 months. I do think the app would be really helpful.
Good luck!!
I think you will love it. Try to see that Weight Watchers isn't a diet, but rather a lifestyle change. Most other diets are temporary because you are either cutting out a food group entirely or doing something even more drastic to get the weight off quickly, but it's not something you could do long term. As PP mentioned, the weight may come off slowly, but this is a good thing, as you are more likely to keep it off this way. I did WW after both of my previous pregnancies and was very successful; I reached goal and am a lifetime member. Some people have success doing it online but their own research shows that the members who attend meetings are far more successful. The key with that, though, is finding a good leader, one that you really click with.
Good luck!
