back to belly roll??

DD rolled over tonight!  She rolled from her back to her belly...people seem to think that is weird....I am a FTM, so I have no clue!  It makes sense to me since she is on her back more than she is on ehr tummy since she hates tummy time.  has your LO rolled??  if so, what way?

Re: back to belly roll??

  • Jack rolled from tummy to back for the first time yesterday.  I would think that back to tummy would be much more difficult because of the muscles required.

Back to belly is definitely the tougher way to go, but that's the only way Ansley has rolled. She hates tummy times, so that's part of the reason. When she's on her back, she wiggles her legs around a lot. She likes to lay on her side, so she makes it to her belly sometimes. She'll get a lot of tummy time when she starts DC in a few weeks, so I don't worry about it too much.

  • DD has not rolled at all - I try not to worry...

  • Belly to back just before 5 weeks and back to belly a week before 3 months.

  • I'm pretty sure Lyla will be rolling back to belly very soon. She was so close last night. She hasn't rolled belly to back yet because I'm a sucky mom and don't give her as much tummy time as I should.

  • V did belly to back 3 times about a week ago but hasn't done it since. No back to belly here yet. I don't think that's "supposed" to happen until 5+ months. But of course every baby is different!

  • Kate rolled belly to back right when she turned 3 months, and just started rolling back to belly this week.
  • McKenzie has been rolling back to belly (with the exception of her left arm still being under her) for a week or so now. When she is completely on her belly she shows now sign of wanting to roll belly to back. She turns her head side to side but doesn't do much with her arms. She just kicks her legs about like she is trying to get to her knees. She gets really frustrated.
