I saw in your Siggy that you do EC.

How is that going for you? I am thinking about reading more into it but I think my DS might be a little to old for it.... But maybe future babies?

Anyways before I ramble to much I am interested in learning about it.

    It's going pretty well. Our Mexico trip has derailed our EC train a little bit. I don't think your DS is too old. I started with Lawson at 5 months but I know others who've started at 8 months, 9 months, or even later and have had success. 

    I do it full time for poop and part time for pee. Even if you only do it a couple of times per week, you will still be teaching him that potty AND diapers are for poops. I remember reading that by the time most people potty train the child has already learned that his diaper is his soiling place, so you have to untrain then retrain. But if you EC, they think the potty is another receptacle all along :)

    I started by grunting when I knew he was pooping in his diaper. About a week later I got the potty (I recommend Baby Bjorn little potty) and started bringing him when I thought he was going to poop. Before our trip he was only pooping 2-3 diapers per week, the rest were in the potty (he poops 3 times per day). Also, he usually pees right before and right after pooping, so when he did this on the potty I said psssss and now he associates that sound with peeing.


    We're really relaxed about it and keep in mind he is a baby and babies can poop in diapers. It's just a fun thing for us to do, ya know?
