Lurker finally posting...
Hi everyone! I have used this website for quite a while, I frequently read the emails that tell you about your baby (during my pregnancy AND after birth) and browse the website. I wanted to finally introduce myself, but more importantly, my little man!
This is Kasen Hawke, he is mine and my husbands first child. He was born on December 27th, 2011 (His actual due date). I was induced, as suggested by my doctor. My body was ready (I am pretty small, weighing 95lbs. pre-pregnancy). My wonderful husband was my support person, and was with me through everything. Kasen was born 6lbs. 8ozs... and 17 inches long after about a 6 hour labor.
I EBF (with cereal at 6pm mixed with pumped milk). It was NOT easy in the beginning... in fact when I was being taught the basics in the hospital, the nurse assisting said as Kasen latched was "Wow, he is aggressive!" Yikes. But I nursed through the pain, and difficult latch. We got thrush after a month and struggled with getting that worked out for almost 2 months. As they say - breast is best, so I kept at it! :] It took time but the pain went away... and finally the bonding began. I couldn't imagine before why nursing was such a wonderful bonding experience but now I see... He is just a doll. (Except when he's not scratching or pinching!)
Kasen has been sitting up on his own at around 5 months and is currently army crawling and rocking on his hands and knees. Occasionally he will pull up on things but not often. And he communicates mostly through raspberries... but we do get to hear those mamama/dadadada/babababa's

Welcome and he is adorable!
Please don't judge the ladies here by the posts in the last few days, we are usually a very drama-free place. I have received so many tips and good ideas from these ladies, I hope you find the board useful as well.

And how COOL that - 12/27/2011 was a VERY blessed day! I just adore the hat you have him in, hehehe. :]
