We are planning to swaddle often during the first few weeks-months. We got some Aden and Anais swaddle blankets and few other kinds. I have friends who swear by Miracle Blanket though - - for those that have swaddled, should we get some Miracle Blankets? Are they really that much better? Or will the A&A ones work just as well?
Re: Swaddle Blankets
Many babies learn to break out of a regular blanket swaddle very quickly. Mine could by the time she got home from the hospital. That's why products like the Miracle Blanket and SwaddleMe are useful. I have the SwaddleMe and it's been great for my daughter. I don't have a Miracle Blanket so I can't speak to which is better, but I think getting one of them is essential.
I like my A&A blankets as a nursing cover or carseat/stroller cover. I love that they are light and breathable, and huge.
This exactly. A+A blankets were no match for LO. We loved the Miracle Blanket and Halo swaddle sleep sacks. Now that we double swaddle, we use the A+A blankets with another blanket inside.
I love the A+A blankets and use them to cover the car seat, as a light blanket when we're out (there's always one in our diaper bag), etc.

We used all the swaddles we got a lot. The a+a although not really for swaddling. We used the swaddleme the most and then when she got bigger changed to the miracle blanket. I resisted the miracle blanket for a long time because the thought of pinned arms made me feel panicky. But man she slept great in it!!
I am forgetting one...we used it a lot too and I can't remember the name! Oh wait, it was the halo swaddle. That one was awesome too, really easy.
Also we swaddled for 6 months.
i loved the swaddlemes. they were great and convenient. once DS could break out of those, we moved on to the woombies and those were fantastic. i miss the woombie days.
