*sigh* my pumping days are numbered

I feel conflicted about it, not because I like pumping (I actually loathe it), but it will mean the end of nursing DD 100% when we're together.  I've already started supplementing for bottles at daycare (2 months ago) when my supply/output started dropping.  It's gotten to the point where I'm lucky to get 4-5oz total out of 3 pumping sessions.  I've replaced basically all my pump parts and nothing is getting better.  I'm hoping to still nurse in the morning and before bed - hopefully my supply sticks around for that!

  • We talked about this on fb & I forgot to mention medela told me it was probably my motor & it's not under warranty anymore :( I started supplementing with a little formula too & it seems to be helping but I'm going to transition too but because of teeth.. I love nursing & hate pumping & I will miss my time with her you know?

  • I feel you. My supply really started dropping as well. I hope that you can still nurse her in the morning and night. Lots of luck to you!

yeah I think it may be the motor, but I am pretty sure I've lost the receipt and I don't know if it would be under warranty even if I could find it.

  • Kudos to you for still pumping!  I firmly believe that if I wouldn't have been able to put the pump away for summer vacation, that I would have quit.  It's hard pumping at work.  I'm really, really hoping that I can make it until he's one year old.  That would mean about 3.5 months pumping at work once school starts.  It's just so stressful though, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it.

Good for you for making it this far!  That is awesome!!

  • i do morning & night & i love it. i still feel a little bit guilty about it but it is what works best for us & at least she gets the benefit of some breast milk
  • Try not to be too hard on yourself. You've done great by getting this far and your LO is happy and healthy. I hope your supply holds for the morning and evening sessions.

This is how I feel too. MrsT: 7 months is amazing. Did you think at the beginning you would get this far? I know I didnt. At first I thought I'd be lucky to make it 6 wks! If it wasn't for summer vacation like Lab said I don't know of I could have done it anymore. Ugh I loathe pumping with a passion! And I have to stay behind for every field trip because mine is only electric. Super stressful since I feel a huge responsibility to go with my kids. We take so many damn field trip too!
