Tummy Time

How is your little one liking tummy time? How often do you do it? And for how long?

Re: Tummy Time

  • My LO tolerates it. He's good at holding his head up but I can't really tell if he's enjoying himself or not.

I try to do it once a day but sometimes I forget. I let him be on his tummy for a few minutes.

  • LO is not really a fan. He tries to crawl, with his little feet kicking furiously, but his arms aren't strong enough to move forward so he starts getting frustrated and cries. He's been pretty good about holding his head up from the start, though. He actually rolled over back to front at one month- I thought it was a fluke, but he did it 3 more times that day. Hasn't done it since, though.

He much prefers tummy time on my chest or Daddy's, and to be honest so do I. I talk and sing to him, which is more fun than trying to play with a newborn who's not interested.

  • My lo loves tummy time if she's on a human, lol. When I put her on her little "gym" she sort of just lays there.

My DD doesn't love it.  She fusses when on her activity mat.  I try to leave her there for a minute or two at least.  She'd much rather be on our chest and then she does seem to have pretty good head control.  Honestly, I'm not too good at doing it every day.

  • Oh I didn't realize baby on my chest "counts" as tummy time! That's good because that's my LO's favorite spot.

This sounds just like my lo. I didn't know on the chest was considered tummy time either, she loves to do that.

  • Alex loves tummy time he works hard with his back legs like hes trying to figure out how to get up on his knees and likes to move his head around. We do it every couple days and let him go as long as he wants to since he enjoys it so much

that's exactly how mi daughter is. she's gets so frustrated because she's trying to crawl and her arms won't support her. to sum it all up, she hates tummy time and won't even tolerate it for the recommended five minutes.

She's not a fan. We usually do it on the floor at least once a day for a couple minutes until she gets upset. She gets a lot of time on my chest and LOVES sitting up though so she's got really good neck strength. I"m not stressing over it. My first one hated tummy time too and she still ended up crawling and stuff.

  • LO looove tummy time. He prefers it over laying on his back. I like it too because he kick his little feet like he's trying to go somewhere lol I can put my hands next to his feet and will push off them to squirm across the floor =] It's cute to watch
