Baby Shower Cake

I am making a cake for my neighbor's baby shower. I found two ideas online that I'd like to model the cake after, but can't decide which one. Here are the two options:

ETA: She is team green.

#1: Mommy Tummy

Edit: Changed picture of mommy tummy cake after it was pointed out that the original looked a bit like lingerie...

#2: Onesie

Thanks. I just do it for fun, and I refuse to use fondant I'll post a picture after the shower this weekend so that ya'll can see it.

They are both really cute! I think I like the first one better because it is more unique, but I see waht the PP means as well. I think if you make it a summer dress like you mentioned that will help. Post a pic when you finish it!

This. Not a fan of that one at all. I would also feel weird cutting into/eating that cake.

ETA: Just read down some more. The summer dress idea is cute and would make it less creepy but I still prefer the onesie. More baby shower looking to me.

I voted for the onesie because I think the bump one is more appropriate for a gender reveal party (with the cake being pink or blue on the inside) than it would be for a baby shower. Either way, very impressed with your cake-making abilities erkie! Smile

I like the onesie better. I agree the first one is kind of creepy and i feel like when people start cutting it apart, it will be even creepier.

I agree with PPs. It would be weird to eat the first cake and I'm pretty sure I would crack up if I got the piece that was the boob :-)

Onesie cake is adorable! Other cake is creepy to me. It reminds me of those belly casting kits, which I also find creepy.

I've also seen the first one done with a foot or hand on the belly like the baby pushing against itand thought it was cute.

i voted onesie...

it's much cuter.....

the baby bump cake is quite often featured on cakewrecks.com (yesterday's was hilarious!) and it's just weird...as impressive as it is to make, it's just...i don't know...

i'd say go onesie....

This is disgusting! I also saw one that had a lady laying down with her legs up (like in labor) and it said "push ______, push!"

I picked one cuz I think it's a little more unique!! Def different! I know for mine I want to do a whole rubber ducky theme!! So I'm gonna try to stick with that
