We just started this past weekend, when he turned 7 months old.
I gave him cucumber and, then the next day, pear.
I'm not sure if they were hits or misses, he mostly just licked them. Kind of nommed on the pear a little bit. Last night we tried cantaloupe, he wasn't interested at all. *shrug*
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Are you introducing the spoon as well and does your LO know how to use it yet?
Yay, mtb, for ditching the spoon!
I peeled the skin off an apple and handed it to Alex as a whole and he loved it! Bit chunks out of it and really seemed to enjoy it all :-)
He also loves pasta, but the spirals more than spaghetti. I think he's a bit confused by spaghetti, lol! He puts one in his fist and keeps wiggling it around and laughs when the noodle moves :-) We usually eat our pasta with tomato sauce, so no exciting recipes from me. Alex also enjoys spices a lot, it seems!
Ricola, since giving her greek yogurt I now load a spoon for her and she knows which end to put in her mouth. I eat with her so she imitates me. It's going well!
I don't think she's at the point of dipping it herself yet though.
DS loves meat and seafood. This week he's had chicken (loved gnawing on the leg bone), beef, veal, pork and cod.
We also tried puffs and cheerios this week to help with his pincer grip and aim, we've seen a lot of improvement and he's definitely proud of himself too.
Hits: Pretty much everything we put in front of her. Honeydew is still her favorite, with cucumbers and grilled chicken a close second.
Misses: She's still not a huge fan of squash or sweet potatoes. We tried both again this week and she was 'eh' about them both again.
Her pincer grasp is getting very well- developed. I'm so proud of her (and she is too!) of how well she's able to self-feed. We were out at a restaurant with friends this week and they were really impressed with how well she's doing.
Hits: Just about everything! She loves bananas, and is a puff and mum mum a holic. It's hilarious. I can't put her in her high chair without immediately giving her food. Well, I can, but I will hear about it!
Misses: pasta. We've tried only rotini so far. She gave me a really dirty look and threw most of it on the floor. She's barely willing to put it in her mouth.
I love getting low sodium turkey from the deli cut in 1/4 inch slices. Then I cut it into strips. She likes that a lot, I think it's a great way to introduce meat.
We are just getting started, as it's taken a month for C to get even the slightest bit interested in anything beyond boob juice. So far watermelon and zucchini have been a hit (although I think he's mostly sucking on pieces and spitting them out). He also liked pureed peas when I loaded them on a spoon for him. He wasn't interested in banana and straight up did not like avocado.
Re: BLW Weekly Check-In
Misses:Still not keen on yam fries.
Questions/Comments/Concerns:She's still doing good, gags but never needs help.
Anyone got any favourite meals they are doing that they would like to share?

Misses:
Questions/Comments/Concerns: after the pediatrician placated my husband, we are starting back up. She almost ate all of the half banana last night.

DS does NOT like cantaloupe still.

Alex sometimes takes the right end of the spoon in his mouth, but more often it just gets banged on the highchair tray :-)
I'll just keep on offering it to him then!
