Update to Hiring a Doula

My unwilling husband and I met with the doula for our interview and I'm thrilled to say he's now totally on board!! Thanks to those who said it was a good idea to let her explain what she could do for him VS me trying to continue to explain it. In one sentence she totally won him over and made him "get it". You could almost see the light bulb in his head turn on. :) I think it also helped that right before the interview we had a doctor's appointment and I mentioned to our OB that we were going to meet with this lady. She was very pleased with our choice and said some very nice things about this particular doula so I think that won hubs over a little bit as well. All that's left now is to sign the contract and get the deposit to her and hopefully we'll be all set. :)

    Yay!  My DH was kind of wishy washy at first too, but now as the clock is ticking down he is getting a little nervous, but having a doula there to help us is putting his mind at ease.  He actually said that he thinks it's the best money he's ever spent (and my DH is a tightwad, lol!)

    Yay! I am glad your DH can see the benefit that a doula can provide for both of you so that you can have the birth experience you want!

    That is great that your dh is now on board to having a doula! Definitely helps being on the same page.

    Yay! My Dh looked at me like I was craazy when I said I wanted a doula, but now he is telling the entire family with excitement about our doula haha. I think once they realize how much help doulas are, they are thrilled.

    Yay! That's just how it seems to go. MH did the exact same thing lol. It begs the question: why won't they listen to us, but will listen to everyone else?
