My belly grew 3 inches since last week!!

Went to my appt yesterday evening and my fundal height went from 35 to 38 since last Wednesday!!!! Wow, I feel like that is a lot in a week. My doctor said she is not concerned but if I grow another few inches during this week they will probably do a growth scan to make sure she is not a 10 pounder.She said that as she was giggling but not going to lie, it freaked me out!!  LOL my small frame probably wouldn't be able to deliver a 10 pound baby.

    I think they measure in cm, not inches...if that makes you fel any better!

    YIKES!  I would be terrified if I had to deliver a 10pounder.  I'm quite petite so I would probably not be able to and have to have a c-section.

    HAHAHA that is totally what I meant. But that is still a lot for one week. Especially considering I have been only growing 1cm a week. :)

    Changes in fluid levels can change the fundal height quickly.  Baby can only grow so fast.  Dont worry about it.

    This.  The baby might also have been in a different position which can change the measurement.  My fundal height was measuring on track until 32 weeks when it jumped 4 cm. LO moved from a transverse position to a head up position, which accounted for the change.  At my 33w6d appointment, my OB ordered a growth ultrasound which showed LO was measuring 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 weeks ahead.  His estimated weight was 6 lbs 11 oz.  My OB leaves it up to her patients if they want to try to vaginally deliver big babies, but she wants them to have as much information as possible when they make the decision.  Therefore, she ordered another growth ultrasound for 38w4d.  It will also confirm that he has stayed head down.  He flipped head down at 35w2d.

    It's cm not inches and odds are VERY VERY likely that you can deliver a big baby with your 'small frame' = your body is meant to have babies, it is very very VERY rare for a woman to physically be too small to vaginally deliver their baby.
