We have an Infantino Infinity 5-in-1 carrier. It fits babies 8-23 lbs. I want to carry DD (9 lbs) in it facing me. Per their instructions, I put it on the floor and slide her in. I strap in her arms. I pick her up, throw the straps over my shoulders, and hook them in. I followed the YouTube video exactly.
At this point, when I've hooked her on, DD starts screaming. I have no idea why. She's not being pinched by anything. Her head is significantly lower in the carrier than the baby in the video. But she's within the weight limit, so I would imagine that it's not required for her head to be at the top of the carrier. The only other thing I could think of was that the leg openings might be too far apart for her. Thoughts? Should I just wait to use it until she's older?
Re: Baby Carrier Issue
DS2 hates all carriers unless he is really SNUG and his legs are froggied up and out. I have to wrap my Moby like I'm trying to bind myself with a corset so that by the time it sags with his weight it in, it's still snug. Same with my ring sling, he likes it pulled SUPER tight.
DS1 was the same way as a baby. If I left them loose at all, he hated them. I would think she might just not be supported well as a floppy newborn in that carrier and it might make her feel insecure.
I agree. This type of carrier is not good for mom or baby. Try a different type and you both may be more comfortable.
