Tell me your VBAC story - overdue

I am 1 wk overdue. RCS is scheduled for 1 wk from today. Biophysical profile tomorrow. I was only dilated to a 1 at my last appt (1 wk ago). Any promising tales that this baby may come on her own? I am only getting BH contractions still and round ligament pain. I have had a total of maybe 5 crampy contractions over the past week. No other signs of labor...thanks!

I went to 41 wks 6 days with my VBAC. I had been dilating slowly over about 4 days. I really have what I've been told is an "abnormally high threshold for pain" so I didn't feel any contractions until I was in transition. My MW actually called me at around 2am to see if I was ok and said she just had a feeling so she wanted to come check on me. She drove the hour up to where we were and sure enough as soon as she got there, I started feeling them. It was still tolerable for about an hour or so. At about 5am, they were starting to get to the point where I couldn't talk anymore so I kept going in and out of the shower and was on the yoga ball but the pain was radiating down to my legs making it hard to walk, stand or do anything with my legs so I was just laying on my side. I managed to walk back to the bathroom to try and get back in the shower but stopped at the toilet instead and started throwing up. She checked me and I was at 6cm but she said the baby's head was still high. Knowing that was a part of the reason I had a c/s with DS and the hospital we registered at with her backup OB was an hour away, we decided we would just drive down and not risk anything. We got to the hospital at about 7:10am and went into the room. Got checked and was at 8cm. After about 20-30 mins, my body started pushing on it's own and I was trying to tell the moron I had for a nurse and she kept telling me that it's ok, just relax. I was trying to point to my crotch to tell DH that the baby was coming out but apparently he thought I had just passed gas and was trying to fan it away lol (silly man). A new nurse came in when they were about to change shifts and checked me and started running and yelling for NICU and the on call OB (my Dr wasn't there yet) and started asking the other nurse when's the last time she checked me because the baby's head was crowning. I pushed (consciously, not my body) for about 2 sets of pushes and she was completely out. I was looking at my baby when they put her on my chest like umm, ewww lol (I'm sorry, I'm not really the sentimental type), I asked the nurse if she couldn't have at least put a blanket down first lol and they all started laughing. All in all, my DD is a sweetheart and even though I hate hospitals and don't plan on delivering in one ever again, I wouldn't change anything about my birth with her except for the few morons I had to deal with on staff and it would be at home. For what it's worth, I didn't have too many signs of labor either. GL on your VBAC
