I really want DS to sleep in the crib in the kids' room, but he is still waking up 3x a night. Is that a disservice to DD? Should I wait until he's only getting up once or less?
Chances are your older kid will adjust. Personally I wouldn't want to go into the my daughter's room 3 times a night. Have you considered having the baby sleep somewhere neutral life the living room at night? My kids slept in bassinets and so they could sleep in any room. I usually slept on the couch and they'd sleep near me.
He's in a Rock n Play in our room. We'll just keep him there. The crib just seems so comfortable for him. Sigh.
He's still so young - I'd personally keep him in the rock n play til he was older and not waking up so much before moving him. If its waking DH or anything I'd try the rock n play in the living room like pp mentioned.
Just an FYI although the rock and play is approved for over night sleeping the flaps that support the head aren't breathable (suffocation hazard), and it does not offer proper support for the back of babies head to prevent flattening of the head (this might be older versions, but I'm not an advocate for babies sleeping anywhere other than a crib/PNP/co-sleeper).
We kept our LO's in our room in a co-sleeper that attaches to the bed until they were about 5 months old. I was nursing so it was just easier for me, but if you want to move your LO to your older child's room, I'd suggest a sound machine to help your older one be able to sleep through the night time wakings. Im so glad I'm not the only one with concerns about the rnp. Plus the longer you keep them there the harder to transition to a flat sleeping surface. Op if you think your older baby would sleep though it Id try the crib, my toddler wakes up to everything so lo is in a bassinet in our room still.
