I was just told nothing by mouth before my RCS on thursday. I swear last time I was allowed clear liquids. Just curious what others are being told.

Which didn't sound so bad when I had to be at the hospital by 9am. Until my c/s was delayed 3hrs. I swear I almost ate DH.

This is so awful! Yet another reason I will hope for a VBAC. I could stand not eating, but no water would kill me...

I was told nothing after midnight (for my 3 pm c/s). They don't want you to aspirate if you have to get put under. However, DS came early. I had eaten a snack before bed at 10:30 pm and my water broke at 1 am. They wanted to wait 6 hours after I ate before my c/s but my contractions were so strong that they took me back early. I had DS before 4 am.

Same here - nothing after midnight, and my c-section wasn't until 1pm! I was soo thirsty in recovery that I drank so much water. I do not recommend doing that, I spent the next four hours throwing up water. Honestly, I remember being really hungry and thirsty in the morning, but we got to the hospital at 11, and then they hooked me up to fluids, and that part wasn't so bad. I was fine during the pre-op stuff and didn't really feel the hungry/ thirst again until recovery.
