Toddler Formula

Any mommas out there using or planning on using Enfamil Toddler formula?  I am just beginning the switch to from Infant formula to WCM.  I was thinking that I would still like to give my son 1 or 2 bottles of Toddler formula per day just to make sure he is getting all his nutrients.

Those of you who are using it which formula do you use???

I was looking at the Enfamil website and I just realized that there are two Toddler formulas...  (Toddler- 9 months and up) and (Older Toddler-1 year and up available in milk flavored or vanilla).

I never realized there was an "older toddler" formula...Guess I never paid much attention before!

Re: Toddler Formula

  • Nope, he eats a well rounded diet so I'm not concerned about him missing any nutrients. To me it just seems like a marketing scam.

  • Why do you think your LO won't be getting enough nutrients?  Any particular reason?

  • We just started using it--I was comparing labels and it seems like it does have more nutrients than the regular infant formula.  I'm using it because DS doesn't eat a lot regular food wise, he still does purees and mostly won't even eat a whole 3rd foods jar in a sitting.  He likes to nibble little pieces of what we eat, but only in bites off our big portion, not little chunks on his try.  All in all, he doesn't eat as much real food as most kids his age yet.  So, I use the 9 months + formula.

ETA:  We'll switch to cow's milk once he eats more in a sitting.

This. I believe formula companies (and yes, LO had formula) are great at playing on the fear of parents.

My own pedi told me it was pretty much a marketing tactic and there are actually very few babies running around lacking nutrients. A balanced diet for the most part keeps that all in check.

My son is not a great eater.  He loves his pur?es and still is reluctant of  some stage 3 foods.  He eats only tiny bits of table food and many times he spits it out if he doesn't like the texture.

  • We use the regular toddler formula in 2 bottles a day and the rest is WCM.

We do a lot of day trips where milk isn't available all the time.  At least with the formula I don't have to worry about hunting down whole milk.
