U/S scheduled! I can't believe we've made it this far!

Seriously, it's almost time to start finding out genders! My U/S is scheduled for August 16th. My OB was going to see me in 4 weeks and have me go for the U/S in 6 weeks but suggested splitting the difference and doing both in 5 weeks so I only have to go in once.

    The way my appointments fall mine will not be until the end of August but I'm going to see if they'll let me push it up to the week of August 13th, I'll be 18-19 weeks by then and we are having a big birthday bash that weekend so it would be fun to share the news.

    It is crazy that we are this far, it's moving along faster then the first 8 weeks did!

    I know, its so exciting!! We might get a sneak preview at our next appt (July 25th - a day shy of 17 weeks) and they're aiming to do our A/S at 18-20 weeks - so thats the beginning of August!! I'm so so excited!! We are all getting so close! I think it'll make it much more real, at least to me! :)

    I think you should. My doctor normally does the A/S at 18 weeks, but since we have DD and don't like dragging her to all my appointments, she moving it to 17 weeks. She said 17 weeks is far enough along.

    That is so exciting! And a great idea that you only have to go in once, ha. I've had 2 ultrasounds and i'll have my 3rd Dr. appointment next week and they've all been 2 weeks apart. Luckily my boss's wife just had a baby so he's been cool with all the time off I've been taking!

     It's amazing how the time is flying by, isn't it?!

    Oh man, I'm so jealous of you ladies AGAIN!  I won't be hitting the 20 week mark till early September.  Based on my scheduled appointments, it will probably be in the 20th week that we have the BIG u/s.  So I've go a ways to go.  But I am looking forward to that time!

    Nice. My next appointment falls at 18 weeks, but my doctor was firm on waiting till at least 20 weeks for the anatomy scan, so I'm coming in for my 18 week appointment and then having the a/s sat 20 weeks. 6 more weeks for me. The wait is agonizing!

    I wonder why some doctors like to wait until 20 weeks. I'm sure there's some kind of reasoning behind it.  My doctor says between 18 and 20 weeks, but unless there are scheduling issues, they schedule for 18 weeks. They don't like making mom's wait any longer than they have to. I was shocked today that she decided 17 weeks was far enough along.

    I go again at 16w (July 26) and will schedule it for 20w which will be August 23rd.
