when? I've been trying to go to the gym at 5am but then I feel tired all day. Do you do shorter work-outs more regularily or fewer, longer ones each week? Any suggestions?
I feel I really need a work out schedule that is the same each week. Otherwise it doesn't happen.

Re: Working moms who exercise regularily..
I do the same workout, I do it as soon as I get home from work while DH puts dishes away, makes dinner, packs B's lunch, etc., every other day. On alternate days, he works out while I do dishes/dinner/lunch. So we each only work out 2-3 days during the work week, but that's better than nothing.
I usually run immediately after putting DD in bed for the night. When the heat hit the last two weeks though, I had to push my runs to 9pm or later to try to beat the heat. I run at least every other day. Like you, I can't get my butt up out of bed any earlier than I have to.
Do you run with LO? I was thinking of trying this. But I usually start cooking dinner as soon as I get home. So maybe I could cook a couple of meals on the weekend and that would give me a couple nights to run after work.
Maybe I should look into the Jillian Michaels DVD. Is it a good cardio workout? I do weights and pilates at home right now. It is my cardio that is suffering.
I get up at 4:30 to do my Insanity DVDs. I'm a morning person so it doesn't bother me to get up that early but I do get tired at like 10am so I just have a half a cup of coffee and I'm good. I go to bed super early (9pm).
DH and I started working out last summer. We would do the 30 DS dvd after our kids went to bed each night. It was not what I wanted to do at 8:30 at night, but there was no other time.
Now, I go to the gym M,W,F mornings from 6-6:45 and Saturday morning from 8-8:45. The days I don't go I do a dvd at home after the boys go to bed. I like doing it in the a.m. b/c then it's done for the day. I do feel tired from getting up that early, but I really want to find time for exercise, so there isn't really any other option.
In a perfect world I would work out around 9 a.m. every day, but yeah.....
Working Dad who exercises regularly here.
The obvious one is taking baby for a walk after work. Sometimes we do it as a family, sometimes just one of us takes him while the other gets a little break.
Mostly you just need to negotiate with your partner a time when they will provide child care so you can work out.

I've been going (inconsistently) since Feb. I'm only making it 1-2 times a week.
Oddly enough I used to go to the gym every morning at 5am before having DS and I had no problems. I actually am a morning person. But now that I have a toddler it seems I have no energy and no motivation.
