Testes Tuesday

Thought I'd start this one as I'm awake and annoyed.  So vent here about the testes in your life!

I have two minor but annoying ones today.  First, we made pizza for dinner last night.  We always make two, then DH and I each eat half of one for dinner (Embarrassed they're not huge pizzas, but it's still more than I should be eating in one sitting *sigh*) and put the other one away for lunch the next day and for BIL to have some.  I woke up this morning and BIL ate the whole dang pizza when he got home last night!  This is twice in three days that he's eaten what I was counting on having for lunch the next day because he eats way more than you would expect (the other was half a chicken meatloaf).

Yesterday (and today) I had to get up pretty early to do some volunteer work.  I nursed Lily before I got ready, then she went back to sleep.  DH and Lily got up a couple hours later and I was home shortly after, exhausted from her crying fit (we think due to teething) which lasted an hour that DH was up and helping for half of and from being up so early.  DH offered for me to take a nap, so I finished nursing her, set her up on the floor with some toys and went to go take a nap.  A couple of minutes later, he's calling to me all annoyed and wondering where I am because he was busy doing something (that didn't need to be done then) and thought I was watching Lily.  But he TOLD me to go take my nap, and then he started doing stuff.  Ugh

DH has been really doing a lot lately with putting up a fence for our backyard, helping with the kids and he got up a lot with DS last night (who was up a lot) so I really shouldn't complain, but I am going to anyway.

DH got DS this morning at 6:30 when he woke for the 10th time. Sure, I was thankful, but spending 5 minutes with him, bringing him into our very bright bedroom and saying he's wide awake is not helpful!! Then I had no hope of him going back to sleep and I am going to have a cranky baby all day like I did yesterday. I have told him a million times that DS can't know it's morning or else he is ready to go (we have blackout curtains). My DS usually wakes up at 8, so this 6/6:30 wake up time is killing me!! Throws off our whole routine!
  • He NEVER closes the baby gates.  He fails to realize that this mobile child WILL fall through the open steps and we got them for a reason.  Close the bfucking gates!!!!!!

Oh, my goodness, that is terrifying!  I remember you posting about how crazy your stairs are, too.  Maybe he needs a little demonstration with a doll?

  • MH had back surgery 3wks ago.  he has been home for 2wks but can only sit in a chair or lie in bed and get up to go pee.  so i've done every single household chore, cooked all the meals and changed all the diapers for 3wks.

my son is going crazy b/c he wants to play w/ Dad and he's driving me insane.  I was tying to feed the baby and cook our breakfast a little while ago.  the bacon i was cooking ended up getting burnt b/c i had a million balls in the air but MH isn't too picky (usually) so i scraped off the really bad parts and still gave it to him.

    him: "holy cripsy bacon!"

me: "yeah, sorry....i guess i had the heat up too high"

him: "guess so! did you fall asleep while cooking?" (laughs, thinking he's funny)

me: gives death stare that indicates that joke was in no way funny!

  • This is great because I am quite annoyed with my husband this morning.  This weekend is our two year wedding anniversary.  DH wants to take me to a race.  Like a Nascar kinda race only with a smaller, dirt track.  It will be loud and dirty and I don't like racing, but he really does, so apparently this makes sense to him.

  • DH is trying to start a side business and it has been nonstop stress. I know that getting the whole thing up and running is a lot of work, but I am so tired of him abandoning me to handle the kids while he takes long involved phone calls, or harping on me to help him out in the very little spare time I have these days. He also discusses every little detail with me, and then completely disregards my advice. I'm trying so hard to be the supportive partner I would want him to be if the situation were reversed but he is driving me crazy.

  • Sunday night LBB woke up around 2 for a feeding so I went in, nursed him, and went back to bed.  Around 4 he was up again, which is unusual, so DH went in to check on him.  He was covered in urine.

So DH takes him out of his pajamas (with LBB screaming his head off the entire time because he's tired and wet and cold and doesn't want to be stripped down).  I'm obviously not sleeping either with all the racket.  DH doesn't want to deal with putting new pajamas on, so he puts on a new diaper, puts down a warm blanket over the soiled sheets, rocks LBB down and puts him down.

DH comes back to bed and about 5 minutes later, LBB is up screaming again.  So DH goes in and puts the baby back to sleep.  5 minutes later (by now it's 5am) LBB is up again.  DH says he thinks the baby is having trouble sleeping because he's not wearing any clothes.  I decide to go give him a little food since he's basically been up for an hour screaming.  He falls asleep while eating and I put him back down in his crib.  I decide I'm just going to take a shower now while I'm up and as I'm walking toward the bathroom, guess who's up again?

Later that morning as we're getting ready I ask DH why he thinks LBB's diaper leaked - this is new for us, never happened before.  His response?  "Well I didn't put it on very well last night before bed because he was moving around so much."

REALLY?  So basically I've been up since 4am with a very unhappy baby covered in his own urine because you didn't take the time to put his diaper on well????
