Did you have a med free VBAC? I'm hoping to do a VBAC. With my first birth I'd hoped to do as much as I could med free and use the tub, etc. Not many providers around here are super supportive of of VBACs, and most say you need to be monitored the whole time.
Re: Med free VBAC?
Yep, but I was monitored and had an IV when I was at the hospital. I showed up pushing (we had hoped to get there at that point), but the hospital I was at is very pro-VBAC and pro-med-free.
Definitely look for a provider as soon as you can. Local doulas or childbirth educators might be able to help, as can your local ICAN group.

I have had 2 med free vbacs. The first one was in the hospital. I had a very supportive dr and hospital as well as a doula. We got to the hospital and I was about 8cms and an hour later was complete. I think once during that labor I had the fleeting thought, "pain meds would be nice!" LOL I didn't even voice the thought. With my second vbac, an unintentional hbac, I remember thinking that if I were at the hospital they would give me something for the pain in my hips/thighs. The pain was manageable through rocking and moving. Still not entirely sure why I didn't believe that I was in labor!!! LOL

I did! I had wireless fetal monitoring and a waterbirth at the hospital. I did receive Nubain for a pulled back muscle during early labor, but other than that it was pain med-free. I went in prepared for anything though, since I'd learned my lesson during my previous labor experience. I knew I wanted a med-free birth though, so my birth team completely supported me the entire labor.
Do you have a doula? If not, I highly recommend getting one! Is your SO supportive of med-free labor/birth? GL to you!
