Just out of curiousity; how long does a can of spray on sunscreen last you?

I spray myself, my 1yo, and my 6yo about twice a day and we use a large can about every week and a half. My sister on the other hand sprays only herself (no kids) once a day and uses a large can every two days.

We usually hide from the sun, so I can't tell you exactly the rate we are using it, but what you are saying sounds reasonable. Maybe your sister is talking a shower with the sunscreen?:)

I read that an average spray can should only last 2 or 3 times if you are using the correct amount and that has been true for us this summer.

Er, wow. I use lotion, put some on DS at least 3 times a week, and it's lasted forever.

I hate the spray stuff (I always feel so sticky) but we put it on pretty thick and reapply every few hours with the lotion and on vacation last week - we easily went through a spray can (my DH) and a whole lotion one and possible more as I brought a bunch and don't know if I always grabbed the same one. Since we were outside most of the day each day we applied lotion at least 2x a day. You should be reapply every few hours and more often if you are in the water so I can easily seeing it get used up fast.

They say with adults, you should be using a shot glass full of lotion each time.
