Wine is not dairy free :(

WTF?! So for you moms avoiding milk proteins watch out! I have been reading on the website godairyfree.com (as a recomendation from another MSPI mom) and it mentioned that beer and wine is sometimes made using a non-vegan process. I checked out the website barnivore.com to check out the wines I usually drink and look what I found out about Woodbridge wines:

Company email (Sept 13 2011):

"One of our standard fining agents contains Micronized potassium casseinate [casein is milk protein], food grade gelatin, egg albumin and other food grade components."

Ahhhhhhh!!!!! Milk is everywhere :(

    Someone better tell Leonard. 
    i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

    This cannot be true!

    I'm not dairy free, but this sounds crazy. I can't imagine it's enough dairy to make much of an impact. But... what do I know!

    I am so bummed and hoping that maybe the website was wrong. I plan on contacting the company myself. So depressing if it's true!

    How sensitive is your baby? I'm with Ashley and I doubt it has much protein in it. Ive been gradually adding milk back to see if that was a problem. I've found that if I have a slice of cheese on my burger or a dolop of sour cream on my burrito occationally it's ok, but something like a pizza is no go.

    Don't despair! You can get vegan wines pretty easily. I know Yellowtail is vegan and it's available everywhere. There are others but that's one I know off the top of my head.

    DH saw this post open on my screen and checked some our wines. So far, they're all vegan. DD is VERY sensitive to milk protein, even the tiniest bit makes her sick. Thanks for the heads up!!

    Thank you! I just checked on their website and the reds are safe! Unfortunately the whites are not. Of course I looked after I just had my second glass of Sauvignon Blanc- great :(

    OMG. Maybe thats what happened to DS. I was at a wedding last weekend and had a few glasses of white wine.... Mmmmm Milk IS everywhere :(
