Natural Birth

Tilted uterus?

Any links or ideas about having a NB with a tilted uterus. I don't know if this would change the positions I should try to labor in or have any impact at all. Thanks ladies

  • I have a tilted uterus that I thought my oldest fixed. I tore very badly with her, but it was not a natural birth. I'm fairly sure she was OP.

I had a NB with my second, and I had a tear-free, quick labor/birth, even though she was nearly 9 pounds and OP. The back labor was pretty awful, but it went quickly (1.5 hours from when I started thinking it was time to go to the hospital till she was born).

  • I have a tilted uterus, and it didn't affect anything at all. I didn't even have back labor. When baby gets to a certain size, the tilt of your uterus is indistinguishable as everything moves around to accommodate him/her. I was told sometimes pregnancy can reverse a tilted uterus (apparently it did for my mother), but it didn't for me. When I got my Mirena put in 6 weeks pp it was already tilted back again.

  • A tilted uterus is pretty much a non-issue. Sometimes it can make the heartbeat harder to find early on (like, at 8 wks), but it will have tilted forward by the time you are giving birth. I have a tilted uterus and have had no problems either getting pregnant or delivering vaginally med-free.

  • I was told it was tilted at my last pap before getting pregnant. Since then the doctor has just mentioned my cervix is really shifted back and high- it was hard for her to get a sample for this last pap pregnant but my doc said that sometimes happens because my body is protecting baby. No idea if this makes sense. I'm glad that it won't make too much of a difference during delivery
