Having the awful baby/pregnancy fever that I've been having, I've started looking into things we would add to our registry (for completion coupon, not a 2nd shower... I know that's a touchy subject on the shower board... anyone on here have 2 showers?). So if we do happen to be blessed with 2U2 when we start TTC soon I was wondering...
Stroller? We have a chicco liteway right now and it completely reclines, foot rest goes up to make like an enclosure and there's a 5 point harness so I was thinking maybe baby wearing with LO and use the stroller for DD or when DD walks I could always put LO in the stroller (once she's a month or two, with the full body support).
Do you really need a double? What do you use?

We don't use a double because we didn't even use the single much. I usually babywear and my son walks (they're also 22 months apart, so older than yours would be). Every so often we do bring the stroller and either use it for the baby or the toddler and wear the other. We have yet to run into a situation where we needed a double. But I'm in the minority on this board.
Even if you do get a double you probably want to keep the single so you have that option.
Mine are 16 months apart and I used my double every day. My DS was very heavy and hated to be worn (complete opposite of DD who hated the stroller). She was too young to really walk next to me in the beginning and the risk of her taking off and chasing her while wearing a NB scared me to death. Also if she threw a tantrum or resisted going into the shopping cart and I was wearing DS she could potentially kick him(in the head) so I hardly did it.
I had a double and I would put the car seat in and have her sit other seat of our stroller. I had a snack pod that clipped onto the stroller (from target) and she ate snack as I did my shopping. The city selects basket is big enough I could do my grocery shopping. Honestly if I had to give her a lollipop to get through the shopping I did!
Now I use our city select as a single with glider board or if we are going somewhere like the zoo I bring my side by side city elite. It just depends on your life style what you need. I also forgot to mention my DH works crazy hours and I am on my own 98% of the time!
I don't need a double. I just use a single and one walks or gets carried. Or no stroller, with one walking and the other being carried.
I do have a double that I bought used. My DH sometes uses it on the weekends.
Mine are 15 months apart and I love my double. I know people mentioned having the older one walk.... but what if #1 is a late walker. Mine didn't start walking until 17 1/2 months old!! She's barely running now so I can't even imagine telling her to walk while I put the baby into a stroller. She's still my baby too
I think it really depends on when you get pregnant but I love the double. I have the city mini.
Mine are 20 months apart and we LOVE our double stroller, I use it almost daily and just bought a double jogger stroller to use for more outdoors-y activities (we used it at the beach, going for longer walks, etc.) We got the Graco Ready 2 Grow and have been really pleased with it. It works with all graco carseats and has something like 12 different configurations and can easily be turned into a sit and stand which was a perfect option for us. DS just recently (as in the last like 2-3 months) has decided he wants to walk when we are out places, he still prefers to ride in the stroller though. DS is really small for his age so he would not have been ready for a sit and stand when DD was first born. This stroller was a perfect fit for us- I would put DD in the carseat in the back (facing me) and DS in the front, as hes gotten older I will do him in the front and DD in the back (no longer in the pumpkin seat obviously but still facing me) or DD in the front and DS in the back with the sit n stand (which is great for places like the zoo where he wants to get in and out a lot).
I seriously would have been lost without our double stroller and even now that DD likes being worn alot I still like having the larger stroller to store extra stuff or use for when we have extra kids for things like the zoo.
