First Birthday Ideas

Hello everyone. Well I would Like some ideas please.... Our daughter is going to turn a year old at the end of October. We live in a small town (LaPorte, Indiana) and have a small house. My husband and I already know that there will be around 60 people invited to her first birthday. But we have no idea where to have it, that would be fairly cheep. If you have any ideas please let me know. We do know that we are going to have a costume party cause her birthday is close to Halloween. Please help!!! Thanks!!!

If the weather is still warm, we had DD's party at a park. Or maybe a community building if it's turning cold by then? There is usually a small fee for a community building/recreational center. Is there a pizza place that you could rent a back room and order pizzas for everyone?

We are planning to do our daughter's party at our church. We are members so it won't cost us anything but the church does rent it out to non members for $50 dollars. Are there any churches near you with nice multipurpose areas you could use?

This. We're having our October birthday in a park, but the weather here is usually pretty nice in October.

DD2's birthday is in Sept, but we're having her party in mid-late October. We're doing it our house and just praying it's nice enough to use the backyard (we're also in the Midwest). Chances are it will be highs in the 50's that time of year, but I think as long as we warn people ahead of time it won't be too bad.

For DD1's first birthday in February there was no way we could fit everyone in our house or use an outdoor location, so we rented our church's hall. For future big parties (confirmations, graduations, etc) we'll probably rent a heated pavillion in one of our town parks.

I have rented the 'club house' at my great aunts community. I call it a community bcause it is about 15 single story condo's that mostly old people live in. THe community center is very nice and can hold 100 people! I rented it for $25 for the day....

If this was not an option for DSs August birthday (my house is too small for our 40 guests) then I was going to look at the church, or another relatives house. It is entirely way too hot in VA in August for anything outdoors!

Our house is too small as well. We're using a friend's house that has a lot of outdoor seating and keeping our fingers crossed with the weather.

didnt read pp, so not sure if this was mentioned, but I foudn catchmyparty.com and that was where I found all the inspiration for DS party and I'm totally excited now!
