So, we are having a co-ed shower hosted by our friends, and several of the couples invited have children. We don't want to make it an 'adult only' shower, so are welcoming them to bring their children along.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on games/activities/entertainment ideas for the children? They are pretty much all younger than 6.
TIA = )
Re: Entertaining children.
You could do any kind of craft project for the older ones who can do them.
DS is 1 and 1/2 and is happy to just play with other kids around his age.
1/12/13 DD was born
4/9/16 DS was born
9/17 CP
6/23/18 BFP EDD 3/4/19
For past showers I put together activity packs for the kids - some colouring pages that coordinated with the shower theme, a few crayons, some kid friendly party favors like bubbles etc. If the shower was at someone's house, I would get a kid friendly movie and put the kids in a room with an adult to supervise with pizza, popcorn and the movie.
I would suggest the parents leave them home with a babysitter. Entertaining kids that young is basically like running a daycare. You need 1 adult per 3 children - at least (more for the really young ones). All of the suggestions mentioned would not work with my kids. The youngest ones do not watch TV/movies and they eat crayons and I don't allow them to have popcorn (choking hazard). My youngest would sit at a childrens' table for all of 20 seconds.
Have fun at your shower.
