Just got back a little while ago from meeting the birthparents, T&J. Weekend was a bit awkward at first, but overall went really well. We met T&J at their home with their two LO's. T was definitely timid and seemed nervous (so were we), but J was great and really helped with the conversation. We also got to meet T's mom, which I was really happy about. We had lunch and dinner with T&J the first day and the following day we just hung out at their house and then we went to lunch with everyone, LO's and her mom. The weather, like most of the country was wicked hot (106 degrees) and so even though I would have loved to have gone to a park, staying indoors was best. We all agreed our lawyer is a bit flaky and talks really slow and in circles. T will be finding out the baby's sex at her next appointment in a few weeks and both T&J seem very comfortable with their decision. Obviously, nothing is final until after the baby is born.
I told T I wanted to start a scrapbook for the baby, and was able to take a picture of T&J, as well as the water tower in their town with the town name on it. T would like us to come back to visit once more before the baby is born, but I am not sure we will be able to swing it based on time and costs to get there. Wish they lived a bit closer to us or at least closer to a major airport, but this is not the case. Even the hospital she will be delivering at will be over an hour away from her home. So grateful to T&J for making an adoption plan that includes us.

Re: So the weekend went well...
Sounds like everything went well. I will keep my fingers crossed for an even more smooth journey! GL
