I remember before my c-section, my dr was telling me about the how c-section wing had just gotten all new beds and how awesome they were. Once I got out of recovery they put me in a bed that adjusted automatically to my movement/position. It had a mechanism in it to sense my position and then puff up with air to adjust in response to every single little shift I made. Supposedly it's supposed to eliminate sore spots from being in bed for 4 days. Honestly, I hated it because it made so much noise that it interrupted my sleep. So, did anyone have a bed like this in the hospital? I'm delivering at a new hospital this time and this is one big thing that's been on my mind---I hope they don't have the noisy beds!!
Re: STM's--did you like the hospital bed?

I've only seen beds like that in the ICU or cardiac care units, so I don't anticipate having one (since I'm delivering at a new hospital this time).
I also wasn't in bed for 4 days. I got up and walked as soon as possible, if I was awake I kept the head of the bed as upright as possible, and soon as I could I chilled in the chair!

I had a regular uncomfortable bed after my c-section. But when I was re-admitted 10 later and on a regular floor I had that stupid bed. I was awful and so uncomfortable. I wasn't allowed out of bed for almost 48 hrs and I was miserable and hardly slept. The nurse said alot of patients didnt' like them either.
I think I would have hated a bed like that. I don't even like the massage chairs at the spa I go to for mani/pedis! LOL!
I had a regular bed.......I did hate the compression leg thingies.......I swear those annoyed me the most - thank goodness they are only on for 1 night.......
