Great midwife appointment and surprise

Friday my midwife and her assistant came to the house for our first appointment. I am planning a home birth with the midwife and also do parallel care with a doc, just in case.

I had invited my mom to come, so that she could meet her before the birth. I opened my door and low-and-behold, in walks my dad too! (Good thing we are a close family. He was in L&D with my sis as a birth coach, all five of us were).

Was not sure what all to expect at the appointment, but had all the vitals checked, listened to the heartbeat (strong 144bpm) on the fetascope and then...had a lovely maternity massage from the assistant and MW. How can one say no to that? Rub my belly and my feet? Sure.

They also started me on red raspberry leaf, nettle and chamomile tea.

It was a wonderful appointment. Turns out the midwife who will be delivering for me, also worked with my mom before she delivered me at home.
