I just started back to work a couple of weeks ago, and I'm having trouble keeping up a supply of breastmilk. I can usually only pump 2 ounces at a time, even when I miss a feeding. I know she's getting a lot more when I nurse (as evidenced by her plumpy little face), but how can I get more out of me? I'm drinking lots of water, etc. I know the milk is in there b/c I still feel full sometimes. I just can't seem to get it out. Should I try different shields or something? Any other ideas? Think renting a hospital pump might help things? I have the Medela In Style pump.
Re: Pumping moms...ways to increase supply?
Hi Jill! I used to massage my breasts before and during pumping and that helped. I also took Fenugreek for awhile.
Your new sig picture is so nice!
Well, I don't have life experience, but I did alot of research for my sister,so I will pass along.
Fenugreek Seed Oil capsules
Oatmeal
Mother's Milk Tea
Of course tons of water
Brewers Yeast
None of these worked for her and she ended up going on Reglan, but good luck!
My sister got her's at Target, but their Target is awesome LOL. If you have trouble finding them, I know for a fact GNC has them.
I got my fenegreek from Healty Grocer. I have some left...30 capsules or so. I also have mother's milk tea. You are welcome to have them...let me know.
Giant has Fenugreek in the organic aisle.
Also, dark beer helps. I had a couple guinness' over the weekend and I was engorged for the first time in weeks !!
