DD has her first real cold. I think we are nearing the end of it. Fever is gone, runny nose has dried up & and she is playing like normal. But the coughing remains, especially when she sleeps. It is really pitiful. She will cough so hard that it wakes her up, then she cries, and can't go back to sleep. ![]()
We have a humidifier in her room. Other than that - is there anything I can do to help?
Re: Bad coughing when sleeping - any suggestions?
How do you do the elevated mattress when they are crawling? DS moves all over the place in his crib.
DS has had the croup twice (he's just getting over round 2) and ear infection in between. I can totally sympathize! Here's what helps him:
-Warm bath before bed
-Cool Mist humidifier
-Vicks vapor rub on chest and back (they make a formula for babies)
-Saline drops in the nose (even though the running nose is gone, it will help break up the congestion that's causing the cough.
He still coughs, but it doesn't wake him up and it's not nearly so wet.
