to use your own home for your shower? I am not throwing my own shower, but was going to offer my home as a potentional location for the shower. Is that bad ettiquette?
It is fine. I've gone to a couple in the MTB's home and also hosted a couple in the MTB's home. Just make sure the host(s) are the ones planning the clean-up before and after and also the set-up.

For sure! Knowing my aunt, I'll get kicked out of my own home during set up and whatnot. I showed up early to help with my bridal shower (at my mama's house). I thought I was being nice. They made me got get a pedicure instead. I mean they really had to twist my arm hard.
Nah not tacky just a pain if your hostess(es) won't be game to do set-up and clean-up... when you offer it up I'd be like "Your welcome to use my house, I'll disappear for a couple hours before and a couple hours after so I'm not in your way" lol

Sounds like you have some awesome family OP! I'm sure your going to have a wonderful shower no matter where it's located.

I think it's fine.... just be prepared that like PP said, you may be involved in set-up/clean up. I had a great shower but I ended up doing a bunch of set up and having to scrub my house from top to bottom (while huge at almost 8 months). Wasn't very fun to have to do that..... but like I said my shower turned out great. Was also a lot easier not to have to transport the gifts from another location
