Partial Previa...

Ok so long story short I had a leap procedure done years ago( it takes a small layer of your cervix off do to abnormal cells) and so my Dr is doing a few cervical measurements. I just had one done on Sat. and they found that I had partial placenta previa. My Dr says there is a good chance it will move as my uterus does. What I have read, is there is a 95% chance it will just go away.

So my question is... Have any of you ever had this and if so did it clear up the farther along you got? And if not any advice?

  • I'm sorry to hear about this because I know that as a pregnant woman, you are bound by fear. I never had it personally, but I knew someone that did. I would say just listen to the doc, they went to school for a reason. If they say bedrest take it seriously. Other than that think happy thoughts :) I hope it works out for you

  • I had bleeding and they found it was from a clot of blood in there but while getting checked out, they found I had partial placenta previa. I was put on bed rest for a few weeks and my placenta already moved up and away from my cervix. So everything is good to go now! I feel like if it's partial, especially still this early, there is probably a much better chance it will move out from on the cervix in plenty of time before Decdmber. T and P being sent your way!

  • Yes and mine went away by 28 weeks.  I was on pelvic rest until then.  GL!

  • I had it with DD. At my A/S they discovered it, they had me come in 5 weeks later to check on it, it had moved away from my cervix. Even if it doesn't move away it just means a planned C-section. So it's really no biggie unless it's a complete previa.

i had a friend who was diagnosed full previa at the beginning of her pregnancy legit her son was sitting ontop of it! then after she was about 28 weeks it was only partial and now shes 37 weeks and just has a low laying placenta and was told she can deliver natrually if she wants!

  • I had a low-lying placenta; not covering the cervix, but close enough that they put me on pelvic precautions (which my midwife later poo-pooed as unnecessary for how far away mine was. I had already served 6 weeks, so I was really annoyed!!). Mine moved away no problem; at the next u/s it was up high, in perfect position.

    GL!

  • I have complete previa..I've been out of work for 3 weeks now because of it. (my job is physically demanding)

From all of the research I did if it's partial there is a great chance that it will correct itself.  Your doctor is aware of it so just do whatever they tell you and I'm sure everything will work out beautifully. Good luck to you!
