Our youngest's name is just Nora. Not digging the popularity, but it's not short for Eleanor. We kind of want Eleanor for if we have another girl later on. Everyone keeps asking me if Nora is short for anything. Nope. Just Nora. Is Nora a nn?

According to my baby name book, Nora is a nickname for Eleanora, Leonora, and Honora.
EDITED TO ADD: Sorry, the book also has it as a standalone name as well.
Also, I agree with this.
This.
I'd say Nora is like Lucy ? names that can be either full names or nicknames.
But I agree w/ PP ? if you have a Nora, Eleanor is definitely out for future kids.

This. If you really love both names name her Eleanor with NN Nora.
Totally agree.
