STMs: at what age did you stop using the swing?

I have a travel swing - I love it because I can move it around the house with me, take it to grandma's, and it doesn't take up much space in my tiny house. But the downside is that it doesn't have a lot of power, and it's starting to struggle to swing my 12.5 lb baby. Another month and I'm afraid it won't be able to swing her at all anymore.

If your baby liked the swing, how old were they when they stopped using it? I really have no idea what's normal. If most babies use it for a long time I might try to snag a bigger one secondhand...

I used the one with my daughter until she figured out how to sit forward and stop it. It WAS 16 years ago. IDK about these new ones.

Is it plug-in or battery operated? If it uses batteries, it will have a harder time working when they are running low. You could try changing them to see if that helps.

DS1 used his till 10 months, but he loved his swing, fisher price one that goes two ways... the weight limit was 25 pounds.

That doesn't sound right most swings can swing up to a 25 lb kid, I'd check the batteries. But it all depends on the kid my first didn't like his until 3 months and then used it until 6 months, my second flopped himself forward around 3 months and tried to get out so we stopped using it. But my niece loved hers and used it until a year or more. This baby hates to be strapped down so we never even got it out. If your lo likes a swing you may use it for a long time.
