For the past 40 days, I have been a single step-parent for 37 days

DH was gone for 30 days...  then we went to in-laws...  DH left during the day while I had the boys.  Now he is gone again.  He has not been home for a full non-working day in about 7 weeks.  I am so tired of being the only one around.  I have had to deal with everything alone. 

SIL said SS1 seems "stressed" and SS2 is "sad."  Thanks for the judgment.  They have barely seen their dad in weeks.  Being a step-parent is hard enough without being a single parent.

full time stepmom to SS1 and SS2 since 2010
married since 2011

TTC since 7/2011 (no planned bc since 2008)
HSG 11/2011: one blocked tube
S/A 2/2012 and retest S/A 3/2012: normal
Bloodwork: normal
2nd HSG 5/2012: clear
Femara cycle 5mg #1 7/14/12 + IUI #1 7/23/12 = bfn
New RE appt 8/14/12
IVF #1 meds 8/30/12. ER 9/14/2012: 7 retrieved, 6 fertilized. ET 9/19/12: 1 perfect embryo 5dt.
Beta #1 BFP! 97

ultrasound #1 heart beat 127
10/20/12 graduated!!!

    that is rough. how old are the boys? can you look into some sort of summer camp? programs at the boys and girls club? summer rec program through the town? I know its kind of late in the game to sign them up for anything, but it doesn't hurt to look.  I bet they are missing the interaction with dad, but maybe having some friends to hang out with during the day will brighten the mood?

    I've done that before (for a longer period of time, actually), and it is rough! Hang in there! If possible, take some time for just you to recharge.

    I get so irritated!  My son goes to his father's every other weekend.  He is 12 and doesn't want to go to his dad's because he doesn't like his dad's live in girlfriend and her son.  While I agree that he should have the opportunity to spend time with his dad, I get mad because his dad works 2/3 of the time that my son is there, leaving him with girlfriend and her son.  I understand that, while I have custody, his father is entitled to visitation with him.  But (and not trying to negate the idea that there are wonderful, caring step parents out there) there never was a clause in our custody papers that said girlfriend gets visitations with my son.  I wouldn't mind if my son weren't so miserable spending time with her, but he complains every time he has to go!

    Why is he gone and why did he leave for ILs the second instead of spending time with you and his kids?

    Oops, I thought it said he went to ILs not we!  I hated when DH would be gone 2 or 3 days when SD was a pre-teen/teen, I cannot imagine your time period. Good luck and try to get downtime for you.
