TTC??

My AF has been wonky since I gave birth nearly 11 months ago. She came back for a few months, then disappeared for 5 months. I just had a cycle that finished yesterday.

Yesterday, our new neice was born. Now, hubby is "baby-hungry"....and I might be too.

 DD will be a year old next month. We always said we would start to TTC when she was about this age. How long did you/do you plan to wait before TTCing? IF we were to conceive sometime in the next 3 months, she would be nearly 2 by the time new baby is here. I don't know if we should jump in and try, or if we should wait and enjoy our DD some more. DH has always wanted our children to be close in age.

    We're going through the same thing and just decided we are going to try.  Although DH is in his early 30s he feels strongly about "not wanting to be an older father."  So we have decided to start trying.  For the first few months we aren't going to work at trying.  We've decided to stop using any form of BC and if it happens it happens.  In a few months if it hasn't happened then I might start temping and stuff.

    We already have 3 so not planning TTC but when DD was a year old we started TTC and we were expecting 2 weeks later...so our first two are 20 months apart.  Knowing how easy it was with the first two, we waited until we were really ready to add #3 to the mix.  Again, we started TTC and it took one cycle before we were expecting.  Just make sure that you are really ready because going from 1 to 2 was a big leap..     We are going to ttc this month and see what happens. I'm scared that I will get preg right away so that makes me nervous. But it took us 7 months before we got preg with LO, so maybe it will take that long again? I want our close in age but can't control whatever happens. Good luck!

    we are going to start trying this month! i'm scared, excited and feel a little guilty for taking alone time away from DS.  

    PS - our LOs have the same bday!

    We decided to quit TTA this week. I've been pretty "regular" since AF came back, so I've got my fingers crossed. We were going to wait until 1 year, but there's no point in waiting for a date on the calendar, in my opinion. I'm hoping it happens sooner rather than later. Good luck everyone!

    My DH is a little traumatized by DS being a preemie and the issues he has had health wise since being born.  He gets sick a lot, but doesnt have many long term affects from being a preemie other than size.  I tell DH that I want kids closer in age, but right now he is still on "one and done"...So we'll see!

    I THINK I want to start trying next year...but it may take a bit more pull from DH to help him understand that we cant NOT have more kids on the premise that the same issues MAY happen again....

    @JeepersWife: I hear ya!! DD wasn't preemie, but I had a rare chorioangioma on my placenta that could have killed her. It was SO stressful. Twice weekly ultrasounds and appointments to ensure she was still alive. Spending countless hours in triage because she wouldn't move (turns out, she was just lazy lol). We know I'll have gestational diabetes again (or, we assume so)....but we can handle that. We can't let our first experience deter us from allowing our family to grow.

    We are going to stop preventing by Oct when DD will be 13m (we wouldn't be preventing now if we didn't have a Vegas trip planned in Oct :). )  If we are not pg by Feb 2013, I will begin charting and using OPKs to help us get pg again--maybe sooner depending on how we feel.  I haven't got AF back yet though, so if she hasn't made her debut by Vegas, I will wean DD and see where that gets us.

    I was really one and done when I had DD and for months afterwards.  But now I can see the having another baby thing.  But I'm not sure I can handle getting pregnant now (I was on bedrest a long time) and honestly not sure we can handle 2 kids, at any point.  DD is such a joy I love spoiling her with all my attention.  The first bday is coming up though and we have been talking more about it, people have been asking about it.  It took us so long to get pregnant the first time we should start TTC right away.  I just hate that feeling that we need to, rather than we're ready and want to.

    I had 3 cycles of AF and then as soon as I started talking about trying for #2, I got a BFP.  This really was the first month that I felt like I wanted to be pregnant again and here I am.  It took us over a year to get DD, so I didn't expect things to work so quickly, but am thrilled they did.  Good luck!
