Flying with LO

Hi ladies!  We are leaving for a trip on Wednesday, and I'm looking for tips on traveling with DS (I'm a FTM).  It will be my husband, my parents, and my brother all traveling with us, so I should have plenty of help and extra suitcase space for everything DS needs.  We'll be gone 5 days and staying in a rental house.  I don't really have any specific questions, just wondering if any of you have traveled with your LO and have suggestions on things I should / should not do and items to bring??  TIA!

Re: Flying with LO

  • I traveled on a plane with DD and husband when she was 6 weeks old for a 5 day trip with nights in a rental house and at a family member's house.  She was actually easiest to manage when we were on the plane.  We brought her diaper bag on the plane and gate checked her snap&go and car seat.  During take off and landing, I nursed her, unless she was sleeping and then I'd just let her sleep.  One thing I brought that was such a help was a neck pillow to use to support her on our laps.  That way your arms will get a break.  It was like a mini boppy!

  • I flew 2 weeks ago with DD and it worked well to wear her in a moby wrap through the airport. BF or give a bottle or pacifier before/during takeoff to help with ears. DD nursed to sleep before both takeoffs and didn't wake up until we landed. Pack more diapers than you think you might need in your carryon in case your flight is delayed.
