technical question - baby ticker

I made a ticker on here, but it doesn't show up on my posts. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? And if it does show up on this post, just ignore my question and chalk it up to my computer illiteracy! LOL!

    did you copy the html and paste it into your signature box then hit save?

    When I first copied and pasted the code for my ticker, I didn't realize the code was really long - I just copied the lines I could see.  But, then I checked by scrolling up in the box and saw it was several lines long.  Still, for some reason, the first time I successfully changed the ticker and the avatar, it didn't stick - I logged out and logged back in and it suddenly worked for me - who knows?!?!?!?!
