Trying to Get Pregnant

No O? :(

So, based on my chart, it looks like I didn't O this cycle? I have gotten AF yet, but I have all the signs she is going to show up any time.

A few questions....

Can you O without a temp increase?

Would you still get PMS symptoms if you didn't O?

I was using the Target BBT (which you all warned me about) and it did seem to give me favorite temps, could that contribute to this or is that not enough to matter?

This is my first cycle temping, but could this just be a weird cycle and not something to worry about? I also had multiple positive OPKs too, which is weird.

Anyway, got a new BBT for next time and hoping for better results, but any guidance you all have is appreciated!

Re: No O? :(

  • Unfortunately, if you don't have a temp increase you didn't O. The reason for the temp increase is the surge in Progesterone that takes over in the Luteal Phase of the m/s. If you did not have that surge you did not O. It is possible to get + OPK and still not O.

At least you are about to end this cycle and star over! I noticed that you got off bcp in January, how long did it take your cycles to regulate? I got off them in April and have been trying since but it's been hard because I'll never know when I ovulate. My first cycle I O'd on cd 14, 2nd cycle cd 28 and this cycle cd 20. Thanks for any advice!

  • Yeah, I don't think you O'd.  You should be able to see a temp increase if you O'd, assuming all your temps are reliable (consistent time, after 4 hours of sleep).  The multiple + OPKs could be that your body got ready to O, but then didnt for some reason.  I would just keep at it, it is totally possible to still O.  Good Luck!

I wanted to mention that this isnt necessarily true.  Just because you havent O'd yet, doesnt mean that this will be an anovulatory cycle for you.

It's still possible that you'll o late, if I were you I'd keep testing just to be sure. Also it's possible to have PMS in anovulatory cycles. I've never o and I have PMS most cycles. Good luck!

Yes, I would keep testing until you get crosshairs or start CD1.

Seeing as how yours aren't normal yet you can still O this cycle for sure! Perhaps the PMS like symptoms you are feeling are related to ovulation? I know for me a few days before I O, I get super emotional and moody, crampy and sore  nipples.
